About The Event
BUILD is a student-led organization aimed at unifying the Texas A&M student body. Their goal is to connect students from all organizations, all academic colleges, and all corners of Texas A&M through a physically-uniting effort. They encourage students to interact and work alongside each other throughout the processes of planning, organizing, and constructing the project.
"The project" is to convert 40-foot shipping containers into fully-functional and portable Texas Aggie Medical Clinics (TAMCs) that are shipped worldwide to help serve communities in need.
This cherished tradition exemplifies the Aggie Core Values that inspire their long-term vision of unifying and connecting students through collaboration.

FEATURED SPEAKER:
BUILD is a student led organization aimed at unifying Texas A&M’s student body. Our goal is to connect students from all organizations, all academic colleges, and all corners of Texas A&M through a physically uniting effort. We encourage students to interact and work alongside each other throughout the processes of planning, organizing, and constructing the project. Our overarching goal is to design, construct, and deploy Texas Aggie Medical Clinics worldwide as a tribute to the lives lost in the collapse of the Aggie Bonfire. This cherished tradition exemplifies the Aggie Core Values that inspire our long-term vision.
Texas Aggie Medical Clinics are 40-foot-long shipping containers that are converted into fully functional medical clinics. Each TAMC contains spaces for patient triage, laboratory tests, and private treatment. Clinics are outfitted with lighting, fans, air conditioning, heating, and both 110v and 220v electrical outlets. Generators are included with each clinic. The clinics also include upper and lower cabinets, three sinks, and plenty of shelving and countertop space.
After completion, the TAMCs are transported to our partner Medical Bridges located in Houston, Texas. Medical Bridges' mission is to collect and deploy surplus medical supplies and used equipment to benefit impoverished people in developing countries. BUILD has formed a partnership with Medical Bridges, whereby each TAMC is stocked with medical supplies and equipment (estimated value ≈ $50,000) prior to international shipment. Furthermore, staff personnel at Medical Bridges assist BUILD in identifying and vetting NGOs that are capable of providing long-term operational support for the TAMCs.
